We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you! After being reviewed alongside nearly 1,000 submissions, we are honored to announce that two of our very own Certified Master HVAC Educators, Chris Compton and Todd Kler, have received the HVAC Excellence/TruTech Tools “Top 25 Most Influential HVAC/R Instructors/Trainers of 2024” Award.
This distinction is a testament to their dedication and significant impact in shaping the future of HVACR education.
About Chris Compton
With a remarkable 45-year journey in the HVACR industry, Chris Compton’s career spans from being an Owner/HVACR Contractor in the residential, commercial, industrial spaces to a globally recognized HVACR CTE Educator.
His expertise and masterful teaching in both face-to-face and online settings have been instrumental in the success of our online program over its 27-year run.
Chris’ accomplishments include:
- CEO and Founder of HVACRedu.net
- Certification in five NATE specialties at the Service Level.
- Recognition as a CMHE and Master HVACR Educator by HVAC Excellence.
- Owner, CMS – Commercial Refrigeration
- Receiving the National RSES Imperial award (1997) and the National “Dealer Design” Gold Award (2011).
- Owner, California ‘ItsAboutQ.net’ Program
- Being named one of the top 10 CTE educators in the U.S. by ACTE (1998) and Teacher of the Year by the ACHR News (2014).
Compton’s dedication to education has led to students consistently excelling in National Certification and State Journeyman Exams.
About Todd Kler
Bringing over 25 years of extensive experience in CTE and the HVAC/R trade, Todd Kler has forged a career distinguished by instructional roles at Brownson Technical School (BTS) and Compton College.
Todd’s transition into the classroom originated from his prior positions as a Quality Assurance Inspector, where he collaborated with reputable organizations including Southern California Edison (SCE), CLEAResult, Proctor Engineering Group (PEG), and Conservation Services Group (CSG).
His passion for teaching and quality in HVAC/R systems and maintenance shines through in his work. Todd embodies the spirit of President Theodore Roosevelt’s words, “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.”
The Only Program with Two
We are exceptionally proud that HVACRedu.net is the only program to have two CMHEs listed in the Top 25. This achievement reflects our commitment to excellence in HVAC/R education.

In celebration of this achievement, the names of our esteemed instructors will be featured on the back of a Commemorative T-shirt.
