STANDARD OF PERFORMANCE

Motor current must be measured using ammeter.  Applicable safety procedures must be followed.

PROCEDURE GUIDE

  1. Collect tools, equipment and materials.
  2. Put on safety and protective equipment and apparel.
  3. Remove access cover(s) and safety guard(s). (Note:  Disconnect electrical power and reconnect as required for safety reasons during testing).
  4. Locate motor to be tested and determine manufacturer’s nameplate current rating.
  5. Select ammeter, set up and connect according to manufacturer’s manual. (Note:  Replace cover(s) before taking readings).
  6. Start motor, take reading and record.
  7. Stop motor and disconnect test equipment.
  8. Reconnect all wiring.
  9. Replace access cover(s) and safety guard(s).
  10. Leave equipment in required operating status.
  11. Remove safety and protective equipment and apparel.
  12. Gather tools, equipment and leftover materials, and leave work site clean.
