Adjust direct spark igniter

STANDARD OF PERFORMANCE

DSI (direct spark igniter) must be adjusted according to manufacturer’s specifications.  DSI must ignite main burner.  Applicable safety procedures must be followed.

PROCEDURE GUIDE

      1. Review manufacturer’s specifications.
      2. Determine procedures for adjusting DSI.
      3. Collect tools, equipment and materials.
      4. Put on safety and protective equipment and apparel.
      5. Turn off gas to furnace and let furnace cool.
      6. Position DSI igniter assembly on main burner according to manufacturer’s specifications.
      7. Adjust spark gap according to manufacturer’s specifications.
      8. Turn on gas to furnace and test operation of main burner.
      9. Leave equipment in required operating status.
      10. Remove safety and protective equipment and apparel.
      11. Gather tools, equipment and leftover materials, and leave work site clean.
