TASK: Install suction/liquid line heat exchanger

STANDARD OF PERFORMANCE

Suction/liquid line heat exchanger must be located and installed according to manufacturer’s specifications and job specifications.  Liquid sub-cooling requirements must be met and installation must not leak.  Applicable safety procedures must be followed.

PROCEDURE GUIDE      

      1. Review manufacturer’s specifications and job specifications.
      2. Collect tools, equipment and materials.
      3. Put on safety and protective equipment and apparel.
      4. Determine type of connection required and correct location.
      5. Verify that heat exchanger is correct size and type for application.
      6. Prepare suction line and liquid line tubing.
      7. Connect heat exchanger according to manufacturer’s specifications and job specifications.
      8. Remove safety and protective equipment and apparel.
      9. Gather tools, equipment and leftover materials, and leave work site clean.
      10. Test for leaks when refrigerant circuit has been completed, and make required repairs.
