Refunds and Withdrawals
Refund Policy Overview
Student enrollments may be purchased directly by the student, by an employer, or through one of HVACRedu.net’s partner organizations. Refunds and credits will be issued to the purchasing party, and all purchasing parties are subject to this policy.

Cancellation Policy (All Students)
Students may cancel their purchase for a full refund within 72 hours of purchase (until midnight of the third day, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays).
Global Refund Policy
Student Paid Enrollments
Students who purchase a program or course directly from HVACRedu.net may request a refund after withdrawal. Refunds are issued as follows:
a. Withdrawal Within the First 7 Days or Before Completing the First Module
If the student withdraws within the first seven (7) days of the program and has not attempted an exam, the refund will be:
- 100% of the purchase price
minus:- $125 administrative fee
- Textbook cost (if applicable)
- Shipping charges (if applicable) b. Withdrawal After Attempting an Exam or After 7 Days
b. If the student withdraws after attempting any exam or after the first seven (7) days, the refund will be:
- $125 administrative fee, plus
- The full retail price of each course the student has accessed or completed
- Refunds apply only through the first two courses in a program
Once the student accesses the third course, no refund is available.
c. No Refund After 50% Completion
If the student has completed 50% or more of the program, no refund will be issued.
Employer Paid Enrollments
a. Withdrawal and Credit
When a student withdraws from an employer paid program:
- The unused portion of the program may be reassigned once to another employee from the same company.
- A $125 administrative fee will be deducted.
- The remaining credit will be applied to the replacement employee’s enrollment.
b. No Credit After 50% Completion
If the student has completed 50% or more of the program, no credit will be issued to the employer.
Additional Conditions
- Refunds cannot be transferred or applied as credit toward any other enrollment.
- Refunds will be issued within two weeks after approval.
- Students using a payment plan are not eligible for refunds. Any remaining payments will be cancelled as of the withdrawal date.
Refund Policy for Students Called to Active Military Service
Students who withdraw due to being called to active duty may choose one of the following:
- Pro Rata Refund of tuition and fees for the portion of the program not completed
- Military Withdrawal & Reenrollment within one year of discharge, without additional tuition or fees (other than any previously unpaid balance)
- Final Grade Assignment if the student has completed at least 90% of coursework and demonstrated mastery
Refunds will be issued within 60 days of the effective withdrawal date.
State Specific Refund Policies
Some states require schools to follow specific refund rules. When state law provides a different or more generous refund calculation, the statespecific policy overrides the global policy for students in that state.
Iowa Refund Policy (Iowa Code §714.23)
This policy applies to Iowa residents and to students enrolled under interstate reciprocity agreements.
For asynchronous, open enrollment programs, the following definitions apply:
- Instruction Start Date means the date the student is granted access to the online learning platform.
- School Period means the total published length of the program (for example, 365 days for a 12-month program).
- Calendar days completed, and calendar days remaining are calculated individually for each student based on their Instruction Start Date and School Period.
- Course or Program Purchase Price refers to the amount paid at checkout for the online course or program.
a. Full Refund Within the First Two Weeks
Students who withdraw within the first 14 calendar days after their Instruction Start Date receive a full refund of the Course or Program Purchase Price.
b. Pro Rata Refund After the First Two Weeks
After the first 14 days, students are eligible for a pro rata refund.
The refund amount is based on the percentage of the School Period the student has not yet used.
The school calculates how many days remain in the student’s School Period and refunds 95% of the unused portion.
No refund is required once the student has completed 60% or more of the School Period.

c. Special Circumstances
Students who withdraw due to:
- physical incapacity, or
- spousal employment transfer (for classroom based programs)
receive a refund based on the unused portion of the School Period.
The refund equals the Course or Program Purchase Price multiplied by the percentage of days the student has not yet used.
d. Clock Hour Programs
For clock hour programs, refunds are calculated using scheduled clock hours instead of calendar days.
e. Refund Timing
Refunds will be issued within 45 days of the school’s determination of withdrawal.
f. No Penalties
Students will not be charged any withdrawal fees or penalties.
